In short: your creations are yours. Uploads and results are used only to fulfill your request — we never sell your data, and never use it for advertising, tracking, or AI training.
1. About this policy
WonderInk (“the App”, “we”) is an AI creation app that turns your photos and doodles into artwork and short videos. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
We follow the principle of data minimization and collect only what is necessary to provide the App:
Account information — your email address and display name, your password (stored only as a salted hash), or the unique identifier returned by Apple or Google if you sign in with them. We never request or store your social-platform passwords.
Device identifier (guest mode) — if you use the App without signing in, a persistent identifier tied to your device so your purchases and credits remain available to you; you can create an account later to link them.
Content you submit — the photos and drawings you upload and the text prompts you enter, used solely to run the AI generation you request.
Generated results — the images and videos produced by AI, so you can preview, recover, and download them.
Purchase records — App Store transaction ID, the product, and the credits granted. Apple processes all payments; we never see your card or payment-account details.
Push token — only if you enable notifications, used to tell you when a generation finishes.
Essential technical logs — request timestamps and a network address, for security, abuse prevention, and billing audit. We integrate no third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking SDKs.
3. How your content is processed and retained
To complete a generation, your uploads and prompts are sent over an encrypted connection to our servers and then forwarded to our third-party AI processing provider, Alibaba Cloud (Model Studio / DashScope), which runs the AI model and returns the result; results are then stored in our cloud storage for you to preview and download. This is the only purpose for which your content is used. The provider processes your content solely to perform the generation we request on your behalf, under privacy and security commitments at least equivalent to those described here, and neither we nor the provider use your content to train AI models.
We apply a minimal-retention policy: only your 10 most recent generations (results and their source uploads) are kept on our servers; older ones are deleted automatically. Everything is deleted immediately when you delete your account. Please download anything you wish to keep long-term.
4. Face data
Some features (such as Portrait Restyle) work on photos that may contain a face. We want to be precise about what this means:
What we collect: only the photo you choose to upload. The App does not scan, extract, map, or store facial geometry or any faceprint, and does not use face data to identify or recognize any individual.
How it is used: a photo that contains a face is used solely to generate the artwork or video you requested. It is never used for identity recognition, profiling, advertising, tracking, or AI training.
Sharing & storage: like other uploads, it is sent to our AI processing provider, Alibaba Cloud (Model Studio / DashScope), only to perform the generation, and stored in our cloud storage.
Retention: the same minimal-retention rule applies — only your 10 most recent generations are kept, then deleted automatically, and everything is deleted when you delete your account.
5. What stays on your device
Your personal gallery inside the App (the “Works” tab) is stored only on your device. Deleting the App deletes it.
6. Who we share data with
Only with service providers that make the App work, and only to the extent necessary:
Alibaba Cloud (Model Studio / DashScope) — our AI processing provider. We send the photo or drawing you choose and the text prompt you type, solely to generate your requested image or video. Used only to fulfill your request; never for training, advertising, or tracking. Also provides the cloud storage that holds your recent results.
Apple — In-App Purchase payments and push notifications (APNs).
Email delivery provider — sending the verification codes you request.
These providers act as our processors and are bound to use your data only to provide their service to us, under privacy and security protections at least equivalent to those in this policy. We never sell your data and never share it for advertising. Before any content is sent to our AI provider, the App asks for your consent and explains what is sent and to whom.
7. Security
All traffic uses HTTPS, with an additional layer of payload encryption between the App and our servers. Passwords are stored as salted hashes and are never readable by us. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we make commercially reasonable efforts to protect your information.
8. Your choices and rights
Delete your account anytime in the App (Me → Delete Account). This permanently removes your account, all uploaded content, generated results, and push tokens from our servers.
Notifications are optional and can be revoked anytime in iOS Settings.
WonderInk is not directed at children under 13. Accounts may only be created by users 13 or older; younger children should use the App only together with a parent or guardian on the parent’s account.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page; material changes will also be announced in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
